ABOUT AFI
The AMERICAN FILM INSTITUTE is the world-renowned organization dedicated to advancing and preserving the art of film, television and the moving image. The AFI Conservatory is one of the top 5 graduate film programs in the country. It is recognized for the supreme talent that it produces and the paramount level of its cinematic training. Some of the top filmmakers in the world have mastered their craft at the AFI Conservatory, going on to shape and reshape the film industry from all fronts. The Conservatory awards Master of Fine Arts in the discipline of Producing, Directing, Cinematography, Screenwriting, Editing and Production Design.
AFI thesis productions have been honored with numerous major awards, including Oscar for Best Narrative Short, the Student Oscar, Directors Guild of America Awards, American Society of Cinematographers Awards (ASC) , and The American Editors Awards (ACE). AFI thesis films have also been selected at the premiere film festivals of the world, including, Cannes, Berlin, Sundance, and Toronto.
